Twitter - 30 days later
So it has now been a month since I became actively involved in twitter and I have to admit I am very much impressed by the various things one can twitter for. I have made connects with other writers and other entrupenuers so all in it’s been a success.
The mindset going into twitter was hoping and praying it wasn’t going to turn into a mindless IM service. Much to my amazement the majority of those I follow and that follow me use it for business and for leisure. I’ve found that majority of the blogs or write-ups that are mentioned by those in my circle have proven to be extremly useful.
I would mention them but then I know I’d miss a few and I don’t like to leave people out of the loop.
Nonetheless there does happen to minor chit-chat but nothing to extreme where I have to shut down Twirl, thank God. Yet, even then with the minor chit-chat real relationships are building and bridges between possible businesses are forming. Now 30 days later there are other ‘twitter-like’ websites/applications popping up. The biggest one is ‘Plurk’ which I am pretty hesitant to join since Twitter has been terrific minus the following:
- Being down
- Various functions not working properly.
Credit to twitter though in all honesty these ‘problems’ are fixed within 48-72 hours and a massive database that twitter houses I think that’s pretty impressive.
So, what you have you learned from twitter in the last 30 days?
